The Camp Story

The Camp design studio was founded in a fit of nostalgia by industrial designer Justin Jakobson as an homage to the analog era and golden age of mid-century design. After twenty five years immersed in electronic gadgets and the digital world, these watches represent a return to tactile experiences and honesty in materials.

There will always be a place for mechanical devices beautifully designed and engineered for a single purpose. His first watch was a Swatch Yamaha Racer GJ700 from the 1985 Spring/Summer collection. You can read more on the designer's website here.

The Fieldtimer Manual Wind is the studio's debut watch; a product of more than 18 months of development and obsessive fine-tuning.  A study in classic proportions, it embodies a colorful and distinctive mid-century aesthetic brought to life by modern industrial processes. An artful take on the classic field watch genre, the Fieldtimer combines traditional jewelry making craft in the hand-polished enamelled lacquer dial with sustainable and highly precise methods such as lab-grown sapphire and μ-MIM stainless steel.
