The Camp Story

The Camp design studio was founded by industrial designer Justin Jakobson in 2023 with the hopes of bringing just a soupçon of the style and vibrancy of Los Angeles to the wrists of discerning watch enthusiasts.

After twenty five years in fields ranging from electronic gadgets to immersive experiences, the release of this first watch is the culmination of a lifetime obsessed with the analog world. There will always be a place for mechanical devices beautifully designed and engineered for a single purpose. You can read more on the designer's website here. His first watch was a Swatch Yamaha Racer GJ700 from the 1985 Spring/Summer collection.

The Fieldtimer Manual Wind is the design studio's debut watch; a product of more than 18 months of development.  A study in classic proportions, it embodies a colorful and distinctive mid-century aesthetic brought to life by modern industrial processes. An artful take on the classic field watch genre, the Fieldtimer combines traditional jewelry making craft in the hand-polished enamelled lacquer dial with sustainable and highly precise methods such as μ-MIM stainless steel and lab-grown sapphire.
