A subtle and ethereal green color which can appear yellow or even white depending on the ambient light.  The dramatic shadow effect beneath the numerals is achieved by five layers of crystal clear enamelled lacquer on top of ten more layers of hand-polished, oven-cured color. The typeface featured is DIN1451, a beautiful product of the Machine Age designed for the Royal Prussian Rail Administration in 1905 and devoid of any unnecessary decoration.  Perfect for use as decoration, then.

You might wonder why a watch designed in California is named for another state on the East Coast of the US.  While intended to appeal to any lover of color and style, the Fieldtimer is secretly a car watch from a car town, paying homage to one of those you wish you had never sold.  It may have been German but it was perfect for California in the 60's and happened to be painted in some of the coolest colors ever conceived.  No, not the Beetle.  The BMW 02 Series was described by Car and Driver as "one of modern civilization's all-time best ways to get somewhere sitting down" and Florida Green was one of the rarest and loveliest hues.  The seconds hand with spun silver center cap is likewise inspired by the gauges on the 1960's models and subtle crosshairs inspired by 1970's instruments.  DIN1451 also happens to be the typeface used on the early cars and the leather wrap is a genuine calfskin reimagination of the original vinyl tool roll.

The ultra-thick, ultra-deep enamelled lacquer is made by Berlac, the same Swiss firm responsible for sustainable coating solutions braving the elements and stone chips on the fronts of Porsches and dozens of other manufacturers.  It may be a car watch from a city known for its car culture and yet no one ever need know...except those who know.

Three straps are included with every watch: water-resistant Cordura nylon with green lining, soft Italian full grain leather with green cross stitching, and a vintage Bonklip-style steel bracelet with a utilitarian elegance and lightness perfectly matched to the slim watch case.  The stainless steel pin buckle was custom designed and micro metal injection molded (MIM) from 316L stainless steel, the same additive process used for precise miniature machine parts, reducing material waste when compared to CNC.

The steel Bonklip strap is available in two lengths to fit over different sized hands, since it is attached to the watch in a loop.  The standard length will fit over hands measuring up to a circumference of 9" (23cm).  Standard will actually fit wrists up to 8" (20cm) as long as it fits over the hand.

  • Character Line

The unique identifying feature of the case, the curved crease along the side adds a dash of intrigue to an otherwise conventional design. The side profile (and Fieldtimer name) is partly inspired by the Seiko Speedtimer 6139-7020.

  • Illusion

A deceptively simple curve along the side creates the illusion of a floating midcase while partially concealing the exposed lug holes. The bevelled lower surface also makes for a more comfortable fit as you bend your wrist.

  • Details

The Fieldtimer is full of little surprises. The deep 3D letters are possible with Micro-MIM (metal injection molding) using 316L stainless steel - a process used for precise miniature machine parts, reducing material waste when compared to CNC.

Great look. Fantastic Quality.

The clear commitment to quality really shines through with this watch. The designer's experience brings a holistic understanding to the watch. The movement is superior and the dial design is simple and detailed at the same time. Probably the best and the hardest part is the elements all actually work together. It's getting more than its fair share of my wrist time.

Distinctive new Field Watch

Being intrigued by an offer of an enamel dial with a manual wind Swiss movement I just had to check it out . I ordered the Florida green version since it was a color I really hadn’t seen before and I was really impressed . The Watch dial color really stands out in person and the package includes 3 straps in total for variety . Though i do especially love the Cordura gray strap . Throw in the beveled bezel and clear caseback excellent water resistance love it . . The watch is a keeper thanks Justin

Good, but not great

First let me say this, I absolutely love the color. It’s absolutely amazing. The function and the details are top notch. Movement is crisp. The only negative I can truly say is that the lume is absymal. Truly horrific. I used a UV light to truly engage the lume only for it to dissipate within seconds. Definitely a day time watch.
